This article shows the knife used by the communist forces in the Malayan Emergency:

The Malayan Emergency (1948-60) was one of the few successful counter-insurgency operations undertaken by the Western powers during the Cold War.

Your pics look more like a Scandinavian style knife to me but I could be wrong.

Yes I think you’re right. Knife must of been acquired around that time but isn’t from the Malayan emergency itself.
