This is my review of the Spyderco Navaja. It's a beautiful knife, but virtually every aspect of the design has a significant flaw.
Cheers
Yeah true. Its funny. Blade geometry is odd, I have heard about the caraca issue and the handle is strange and the bolsters scratch. But I still love it. I think because I have a few gypsy roots that I have some pride in the style. Its half the reason I am trying to track down the Gypsy Jack by Emerson. The design might not make the most sense but the style design features are so damn cool I have to keep it anyways!
And they do sell well on the secondary market, which is a pretty good acid test on a rep imo.
They do? I took a substantial loss from new on mine!
No-one was interested here at all and it eventually sold on ebay for about $60 less than I paid!
Cheers
Holy crap?! Even without the Caraca it still is an awesome knife. I think they will become rare, some dude will say they are awesome on youtube and everyone will try to find it again....or not :P. Mine still works which is funny cause I got mine just after it was released. Go figure eh? I have heard the failure rate was quite high. Why they could not use a triangle shaped wedge instead of that weird pin configuration is beyond me.
Its designed to wear out eventually but not after 100 flicks. I never saw a solution to the problem for folks either. Guess its a hit and miss model eh?
