Hello all,
I've been making handles for stick tang blades for a few months now (mostly scandis) - enjoying times when the execution clicks, and having a lot of "light bulb moments" when events don't go according to plan
I've been lurking in a few forums, but now that I want to scratch my "forging itch", it's probably time to join up.
I'm just a hobbiest, with the normal shed full of tools, pieces of burl and fancy wood etc that I like using to make nice functional things. I'm starting to find that the blade designs that I want to build on are fairly simple in design but are either in limited supply or not "exactly" what I'm after.
I don't think I'm particularly blade-nutty for a rural bloke. Isn't it normal to always have a traditional folder in your pocket, a modest collection of no more than 20 bushcrafty, wood-working, cooking, fishing and hunting knives, more than 4 axes, and a compulsion to keep them all sharp?
cheers,
Tony
