  • Hello!

    Hi team

I've been lurking for a while across all sorts of forums and decided to join up this one as its probably the most relevant for Australian owners.
I work in IT, but every now and then I need to open up a case, strip wires, cut cableties/tape/cord, and cut up cardboard boxes (which is murder on anything I've owned so far). I've carried a SAK & Leatherman for a while, and now I'm looking to supplement with a really good EDC blade (open for recommendations if you want to reply as part of your welcoming message or want to PM me directly).

              Hi Hikaru,
              Welcome to ABF.
I have carried the spyderco rescue knife since the mid nineties.
It has done all you mentioned and more.
The only downside is its serrated and is not very good at neat cuts.
Its still going strong and have never had to sharpen it.
Its a complete beast when it comes to sawing up cardboard though.

Gday Hikaru, welcome to the Abf, I hope you enjoy it.

There are lots of great knives around that are great for EDC just find something that appeals to you, and don't waste your time buying something to cheap; you get what you pay for.
