  • Greetings From Illinois USA

Brand new member but I see some familiar "faces" already. Now do I have to say "bloke", "crikey", "cheers", "mate" and eat Vegemite (please don't make me) to post on this forum or would that just be pretentious?

Knife wise, my main thrust is the Camillus #72 pattern and it's many clones, followed closely by just about anything made by Kershaw in the USA, especially if it has the SpeedSafe feature. I don't have near as many of the English Jack pattern as I would like to and I'm crazy about just about anything with a Wharncliffe blade. I have a complete set of the Puma Big Five series stockmans, all of the Schrade Miracle Whip Anniversary knives I know about and a hodge podge of this and that which has caught my fancy over the years. I consider myself an accumulator and not a collector and wandered into this addiction through the back door, picking up a doctor knife now and then. Mostly folders and a few straight knives make up the pile.

Not sure how much time I'll spend here upside down. My home port is AAPK but I do love to travel. I wish I had the $$$$$$$$ to show up in person. I'll try to be an asset and to not be too much of a pain so if it's not too presumptuous, g'day y'all.

Gday Jerryd welcome to the Abf, we won't make you eat vegemite, but we do like to see photos of collections. When you have a few more posts you'll be able to post from a photo bucket acc.

hahaha Love the intro... Welcome. Vegemite is a must. I eat it by itself using a table spoon. Give it time you will do the same.

Thanks for the welcomes. I've tried Vegemite and have decided you have to be born to it. I'll get some pictures up as soon as I get enough posts. I think I remember reading something about 10 or 20 or 5 or something. Sorry. Old man. Old brain.

Grant (Shearer) and I both collect the Camillus #72s and their clones so if you've seen his, except for a hand full for each of us, you've seen mine.

Edit: There. Now that I can edit, I feel so much better.

Well frogs. I meant to say Camillus 72s and their clones and now I can't find a way to edit my post. Sugar.

            Edit: Fixed!

                        Welcome Down Under mate!

You don't need to worry about Vegemite (most Aussies hate the stuff too!), but you do need to worry about Drop Bears!!!

Basically, avoid any tall gum trees and you'll be alright!

Welcome to the forum mate, great introduction. I hope you enjoy your time here, it's good to have international members aboard.. I'll try not to get too jealous when I see pictures of your assisted Kershaw's that I'll never be able to own.

I'll be sure to stick a fork in what hair I have left and spread a little Vegimint behind my ears.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. As soon as I get time, I'll get some Kershaw pictures up for y'all to drool over. That SpeedSafe opening system is the cat's meow and there's nothing out of the box like Kershaw sharp.
