  • G'day fellow blade lovers

Hi my name is Shawn and I live in western Melbourne in Victoria. I've been an avid hunter for many years and eventually seeking a quality hunting knife with a fair price I started to make my own. I've made a couple of dosen knives and am currently starting on my first folder, once the parts arrive and the "how to book gets here". I've used 440c, rwl-34 and am currently using Ats-34 only coz its cheap from the states.
I recently bought a metal lathe and mill and have enjoyed learning to use them, though my wallet has been hit tooling them out. I made an electric heat treat oven last year which works well and I'm currently working on a 400mm disk grinder and building a kmg/horizontal grinder. I previously have made a kmg clone which although works well has some flaws that I'd like to design out of the next one.
I am at the moment banned from the grinder as I had wrist surgery for a torn ligament a couple of weeks back. Cant wait to get back out in the shed but for now I'm on the keyboard learning a thing or two from the forums and learning to use CAD software for my kmg clone design.

    Welcome to the forum.

Hi Mate, I am new on here too... well except for one post back in Feb... I really feel for you with your wrist I spent 6 months off work after injuring my wrist at work (got caught in a lathe chuck, broke a finger, the top off my arm, and destroyed lots of soft tissue) Hope all goes well with your recovery.
