  • I am a Schradeaholic........

G'day, I am a Schradeaholic...have been for last 9 years..best part is I dont have to attend any meetings....have put together a reasonable USA Schrade collection which the Yanks believe should be in the USA....
I also collect Whittingslowe,East Bros, Gregsteel, WW11 Australian made knives....Puma White Hunters....
From what I can see of those that have already registered there is a marvellous cross section of collectors and makers already assembling on this Forum....this should prove to be a fantastic resource for all edged item appreciators...
I hail from Port Lincoln S.A....around the corner from Dutchy....we have played with each others knives for a while...
Currently on the move in my Jayco rig prospecting in the Golden Triangle having left Port Lincoln in January 2010.....my knife collection is securely ensconsed in a locked shipping container in Victoria.....so I still get to play with them periodically..all the best to this new Forum....Hoo Roo

I'm certainly hoping it will grow and become useful in all sorts of ways, maybe even some I've never thought of.

Ultimately though, it all depends on the members and what they make of it.

Always happy to hear suggestions and new ideas.

      Hey Larry,

I am rather partial to the schrades too. I am currently chasing a 30T or 50T or both. Preferrably with saw cut delrin. These are to replace my 50T. It has been my edc for about 15 years. The blade has been sharpend once or twice!

If you know of any around give us a hoy!

      Matt

ps where are you prospecting at the moment? We just spent about 15 months travelling around oz in a caravan. You cant beat it thats for sure.

        Yes Larry,

        I am a somethingholic

I blame that other Port Lincoln person for the 6 Army Clasp knives, the 2 Whittingslowe Product 41 Stockman's knives and the Whittingslowe combination tool sitting on my desk ay the moment.

The plural of knife is knives.
        One knife.
        Two knives.
        The plural possessive is knives'.

          G'day Larry,

          Love my Schrades, too.

Got an oak handled, brass bolstered stockman in my pocket most days, and an M40 and an ivory handled Walden sitting in the drawer.

I see a certain eBay seller down south has a bunch of n.i.b. LB7's for sale at the moment, too.

Stewart, did Dutchy manage to offload those broken backspring ones he had, on you :?:
Matt, I'm currently in Heathcote Victoria prospecting the Argyle,One Eye and McIvor areas...have to justify buying the new GPX5000! Found a very old teaspoon likely from the 1850's at three feet yesterday which sounded like "The Hand of Faith"nugget,...took me 2 hours to dig....my wife and daughter fell apart lauging when I got it out the hole....40 degree heat for a bloody tarnished teaspoon...aint life harsh?
Mike is your ivory handle Walden a re-handle or one of the office knife folders? Not many Waldens produced in genuine ivory...hey...am I allowed to mention the word ivory on here?..you cant on the Fleabay....
Matt I will keep eye out in my collection for 3OT or 5OT for you....
For anyone interested in viewing some of my Schrades <17 pages of photos..yes my wife keeps reminding me I only have two hands and one of them is supposed to be holding the new Minelab metal detector!>...google... Schrades R Us..half way down click 'Collectors Corner'...the hit' Larry H Downunder' on the right.....the Yanks on BF have stated that Global warming is caused in part by the amount of steel that has left USA and come to Oz to my collection..something about the Earths axis being tilted

Hmmm ... good question. Probably some sort of fake. Now I will need to do some more research. Thanks for pricking my curiosity!
