  • G'day from Broome town

    Hey guys,
    Cam here from Broome WA.
Been lurking for a while and signed up the other day to purchase a couple of knives.
Not really a collector but as an avid fisho, spearo, hunter and long time meat industry worker, I appreciate a nice blade.
However, I do seem to find myself back on here looking for things i don't really need and cant really afford so we will see how it goes...

    Cheers.

          Welcome to the forum.

Hang around here long enough and you'll find yourself buying all sorts of things you don't really need, and maybe one or two you're not sure you really even want.

My understanding of your industry is that you have to work bloody hard for the money you get, and that while you appreciate good cutlery, the knives used in that industry are made to a pricepoint that meat industry workers are willing to pay. Nonetheless with your experience you should have an excellent idea of what you want to see in those 'special knives' you want for yourself and I look forward to seeing your choices

After reading this it seems my last post may be a little miss leading, I am no longer in the meat industry since I moved up north a few years back.
What you say however, is true, This has affected my choice in knives somewhat.
I now work on pearl farms in NW WA and NT (cheap supply of MOP if any are interested).
Thanks for the replies guys, you will no doubt be hearing from me around the forum, from time to time at least anyway.
