  • Newbie needing some info on a Giant Chefs Knife

    Hello,
I know very little about knifes. For the last 10 years I have had a giant Furi chefs knife. I have never seen anything like it. Does anybody know if it is of any value?

The knife is 1300 mm long and weights 5.8 kg.

awesome pic.... from what i can see its a display gimmick from a retailer or such selling Furi pro's. As far as value goes, that would be in the eye of the beholder, you could always try stickin it on the bay and see how you go.

        Welcome to the forum.

It is undoubtably an advertising or promotional gimmick, possibly part of a sign. The only value would be to an interior or commercial designer, and then only when he is looking for something specific for a particular project. Have you tried contacting Furi, they may want to buy it back?

Great first post. Very funny comments. Maybe you should get some other giant knives.

He's only 15 but not tiny.

Yes the knife was used as a display by Furi but it is a direct copy of the knife made from tha same material. It's not sharpened but it could be. Makes a great steak knife!

I had put the knife on e-bay and it was auctioned off at $405 but then the buyer did not pay. It was a real pain. I do not know why people bid and then don't pay.
