  • Tasmanian Hello!

    G'day.
    I have just joined up.
    I am from Tasmania.
I have been interested in knives since I was a kid. Dad gave me my first knife at three years of age but it was put away and only brought out for safe handling lessons as I got older until I was deemed ok to keep it at around 8 or so.
Since then I have but up a bit of a collection both as knives I got just because I liked them and as true working knives for fishing and farming etc.
I have also collected edged tools from a young age, getting my first axe at 6 and going on to obtain several unusual types of axes and adzes and broadaxes and assorted other tools.
I particularly collect Hults Bruk and Plumb whenever I find them.
My collection is not large nor particularly valuable except to me as I have chosen each piece for some good to me reason and I love each one.
I have dabbled in making tools and have most of what I need to build a forge and go to the next level.

I look forward to participating in the discussions here, learning a lot, and perhaps occaisionally contributing something useful!

Tassie is a beautiful place but the current economic climate I wouldn't tell anyone to move here...
