Welcome to the Forum
The Whittingslowe pattern 47 is a collectible knife. There are a few Whittingslowe collectors around.
There is no evidence that the Pattern 47 was an issue item for Australian troops. It seems certain that they were produced for the civilian market. All of the clasp knives produced by Whittingslowe for the Services during the war were marked with an acceptance mark /l\.
There is evidence that some of this pattern found there way in to US servicemens possession by way of private purchase. From this we can be confident that they were produced during the latter part of WW2.
They may also have found their way in to Australian servicemens possession by private purchase as well. However, no knife with provenance is known.
The value of a knife depends very much on the condition of it.
It would be helpful if you could post some images of the knives.
