I just found this forum this morning.
I import a bit of wood from Australia because you guys have some really nice woods down there. (If anyone knows a good source for fiddleback Tasmanian Blackwood, or Ringed Gidgee, please let me know)
A knife maker who is a member of this forum purchased some handle material today so I thought I would check you guys out.
As I get more time I will be looking at the knives you guys make.
I work at a place that makes furniture and works of art from burl from our area. I am in southern Oregon on the edge of the Coastal Redwood forests. It is kind of an unusual place here. Seems like the Australians like us though. About every week or so we will be visited from someone from Australia. I'm not sure how they find us since we are a really small town of a couple hundred people. They all seem to be nice people though.
I attempt to make knives once in a while but I am not very good at it. Most of my time is spent collecting wood and preparing it for more talented knife makers. I always have fun at the knife shows. Kind of fun to see the knives you guys make.
Thanks, Mark
