Hi folks
I've just discovered this forum and thought I'd better join up. I've been a user and collector since my teens (which is a good 30+ years back now), mainly folders with a few fixed blades thrown in for good measure. I've also tried my hand with assembling a few small fixed blades, and ground a few blades too. Nothing to boast about, but the experience certainly gave me an appreciation of the work of the people who do it well!
I need to confess to an ulterior motive too. I've reached the point where I need to shrink my collection down to my favorite working knives, and find good homes for the rest. The family has no no interest in this stuff and I'd rather pass it along to people who will appreciate it, and preferably to people within Australia. So I'll be putting some of the collection through the exchange forum. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.
That aside, it's good to find a local forum. I used to be active on BF and a few others before the passion waned and life got in the way.
